WHAT WE BELIEVE

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe the Bible to be God’s revelation to man. It was written by men under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. We hold to whatever the word says about itself. It is perfect, inspired, unchangeable, without error in doctrine, conduct and principle. It is our instruction manual for life.

We believe that there is one God, infinitely perfect and eternally existent in the persons of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

We believe that salvation is the gift of God through Jesus Christ and that through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross provides the only way for the forgiveness of sins. Salvation occurs when one places their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for their sin.

We believe in water baptism as the outward expression of the inward cleansing of sins from one’s heart. It is done by faith to identify oneself as a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

We believe in baptism of the holy spirit to be a separate work from the born again experience. The purpose of this baptism is to empower the receiver to do the works of the kingdom. Upon receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit the believer can and should speak with other tongues.

We believe the Bible teaches bodily healing as part of the atonement made at Calvary. Although not everyone who is sick gets healed, we believe it is God’s will to be healed.

We believe that the gifts of the spirit are for the church and operate today under the Holy Spirits guidance. Believers are encouraged to seek and use for edification all of these gifts.

We believe in the giving of tithes and offerings. The principle of the tithe was established in the Old Testament under faith before the law was ever given. In the new Testament a person does not operate by law but by faith under grace. Giving is a act of faith and obedience rather an act of law.

We believe in the observance of the Lord’s Supper (Communion). It is an important event in the life of the believer. We do not take Communion every week but at specific times as led by the Spirit of God.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His miracles, His vicarious atoning death through his shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and his personal return in power and glory.
